Bézout's Theorem/Examples/Parallel Lines

Example of Use of Bézout's Theorem

Two parallel straight lines still meet at one point at infinity.

Proof

A straight line is of degree $1$.

Hence, by Bézout's Theorem, two parallel straight lines meet in $1 \times 1 = 1$ points.
