Adigrat

Adigrat is a city around 120 km north of Mekele. It's the capital of Tigray region in Northern Ethiopia.

From Hawzien there are direct minibuses leaving from the Hawzien bus station (July 2019).

• Castle ruins. Two former castles, built during the 18th century Zemene Mesafint era, when Ethiopia was split up into small independent regions. (updated Sep 2020)
• 🌍 Cathedral of the Holy Saviour (በመንፈስ ቅዱስ በመድኃኒታችን ካቴድራል). (updated Sep 2020)
• A local market, a bit east of Golgolta Medhanialem Church. The market runs every day.

Aksum - there are direct minibuses departing from the bus station, costing around 65 ETB (July 2019).
