Glycyrrhizin is the flavorant in licorice root which gives black licorice its distinctive flavor. However, I don't want to consume it due to health concerns.

Fennel and anise have a similar flavor, but that flavor is due to anethole which is generally recognized as safe.

How can I find treats and snacks made from anethole rather than glycyrrhizin?

Anethole and similar compounds are already found in licorice and are the major flavour components (see second paragraph in Chemistry section) for licorice. If you are in the USA, Testing Table indicates that most licorice doesn't actually contain licorice plant, it is aniseed oil instead.
