I would like to travel to Greece but I have got passport stamped at Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus. I am non-EU resident. Is it possible to enter Greece?

This is a tricky situation, as Greece has strict policies regarding entry from Northern Cyprus. Greece does not officially recognize Northern Cyprus.

If you are a non-EU resident, Greek border officials may scrutinize your passport more closely.

Some travelers have avoided issues by using a second passport (if they have dual nationality) or entering Greece via another Schengen country first.

I would recommend you:

  • Contact the Greek consulate in your current location to confirm your specific situation. In your case, it would be Greek Consular Office in Nicosia.

  • Check airline policies, as some carriers may refuse boarding if they anticipate entry issues.

  • Consider entering Greece via another Schengen country (such as Germany or France) before traveling onward.
