I bought some moving sand art that has both liquid and sand in it with out thinking about how I am going to take it on the plane so I am wondering if there is a way to take it on the plane?

This is a older question, so you likely made it home already one way or the other.

Assumeing the amount of liquid is larger then the amount allowed, I thought of 4 ways to still get on the plane with it if really determined to bring it:

  1. It would be allowed in checked baggage.

  2. Look for a way to let the water out. It must have a small opening somewhere to get the liquid in, if its just water and you can let it out (filtering with paper towel to keep sand in but let water out), then maybe you can drain the liquid and refill when you get home.

  3. This is more difficult, but liquid is allowed if it is frozen. So if you can freeze it and keep it frozen long enough to get through security, then you should be ok. Problems with freezing is that it might damage the container if water cant expand, and keeping it frozen until security.

  4. you can mail or ship it to your home with postal or shipping serivce
