I am travelling from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Munich, Germany, on Egyptair. I have a 4-hour layover at Cairo International Airport. I am Ethiopian. Do I need a transit visa at Cairo International Airport?

1Can you confirm that you have a single ticket for the whole trip? (Not a self-transfer with two flights booked separately)? – jcaron May 29 '25 at 15:57

Assuming that you have a single ticket for the whole trip (not a self-transfer with two flights) and will not need to clear Immigration in Cairo, you are eligible to transit airside without a visa.
TWOV (Transit Without Visa)
Passengers with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 24 hours. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.
This TWOV facility does not apply when transiting through Alexandria (HBE).

You can check by entering your itinerary and travel document details on the Egyptair website or similar eg IATA website.
