The capital of and largest city in Serbia.
Belgrade (Serbian: Београд/Beograd) is the capital and largest city of Serbia. The name translates to "White city". A few examples of the most popular attractions are the National Museum the Parliament, the Church of Saint Sava, and the Old Palace.
Belgrade has an extensive public transport system based on buses, trams and trolleybuses. Belgrade is connected with other European capitals and almost every town in Serbia by buses and trains. The motorway system provides for easy access to Novi Sad and Budapest, in the north; Niš to the south; and Zagreb, to the west. The city is served by Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
