Questions tagged [dietary-restrictions]

Avoiding certain types of food and drinks on physiological, social or religious grounds.

Use this tag for questions about how to obtain or verify food or beverages that meet certain dietary standards, such as commonly followed for health, philosophical, or religious reasons. Questions about how to find appropriate restaurants, locate certified food in grocery shops, or read local labels are appropriate.

Do not use this tag for recommendation questions, such as asking for a recommendation for a vegetarian restaurant in Budapest, as recommendation questions are off-topic. Instead, ask how one can find a vegetarian restaurant in Budapest and/or if there are standardized ways to identify one, such as a window sign or notation on a map.

Questions about dietary restrictions themselves, unrelated to the process of obtaining food while traveling, are off-topic. Questions about specific religious diets may be on-topic at the applicable religious site. For example, questions about Halal food (what is Halal, what isn't Halal, specific requirements for verifying Halal status, etc.) are acceptable on Islam Stack Exchange.
