Karachi (کراچی) is the largest city, main seaport, and commercial and financial capital of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and capital of the Sindh Province. One of the largest urban centers in the world, Karachi is the country's most important economic, media, and transport hub, and home to many foreign consulates. It lies on the shore of the Arabian Sea approximately 1500km (930 mi) from islamabad, the federal capital.
Karachi is served by Jinnah International Airport (khi), as well as numerous railway and road links to other parts of the country. The Thar Express railway service connects Karachi to jodhpur one of only two such links to india.
