Contactless cards used to pay public transport fares in Malta.

The tallinja card is a contactless card used to pay for public transport fares in Malta. Quoting from the official website:

The tallinja card is a new and easy way to travel by bus. It is a personalised contactless card that will enable holders to top up any amount of money on it. The card can then be used to travel on all the buses in Malta and Gozo. Tallinja cards will be personalised and colour coded for Adults, Students, Children, Kartanzjan holders, Special ID Card Holders and Gozo Residents. It will contain your photo, name and surname for identification purposes. No photos will be included for Children aged under 11.

Tallinja cards can be obtained online by visiting the official website.

My wife and I are U.K. citizens and will be visiting Malta for six weeks from 3rd March this year. We are booked into the Plaza Hotels in Sliema. Is it possible for us to purchase monthly personalised tallinja cards? If so how do we apply for them?
