Questions about visiting volcanoes.

Volcano is a rupture in the Earth's crust allowing magma and volcanic ash to escape from below the surface.

Volcanoes can primarily be found around the areas of convergence or divergence of tectonic plates, such as the Mid-Atlantic Ridge in the Atlantic ocean. But can also be found where the Earth's crust is thinnest such as the Wells Grey-Clearwater volcanic field.

Volcanoes and magma eruptions are responsible for creating some of the most interesting geological formations on Earth such as Hawaiian Islands, Azores, and Yellowstone Park

Volcano can lie dormant for years and possibly centuries such as Mt. St. Helen which erupted in 1980 and the more famous eruption of Mt. Vesuvius that buried the entire city of Pompeii in 79 AD.
