Commonly deception occurs in making a visa application or in an interview with an Immigration Officer at a port of entry. Also covers false or forged documents and using an assumed name. In some cases, deception may result in sanctions against the person such as bans or removal.

The scope of this tag also includes deception tactics to fraudulently increase loyalty points or to avoid fees. Similarly this tag includes deception by silence to avoid import duties or value added tax.
