The Republic of Kosovo is a landlocked, partially recognised state in . Its capital and largest city Pristina. It shares borders with to the north and east, to the south, to the west, and to the northwest. The border with Serbia is contested, and the topic of independence is a controversial one in the northern provinces along that border.

The major cities in Kosovo include Pristina, the capital, as well as Prizren in the south and Peć/Peja in the West. Population centers in Kosovo often have multiple names in Serbian and Albanian, reflecting ongoing nationalistic arguments.

The only international airport in Kosovo is in Pristina (). There is no rail. Travel within Kosovo is accomplished by bus travel along Kosovo's network of single-lane roads and highways.
