North Macedonia, officially the Republic of North Macedonia, and sometimes referred to as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, or Macedonia (prior to 2019), is a small, land-locked country in . It shares borders with to the northwest, to the north, to the east, to the south, and to the west. The capital, Skopje, is the largest city.

North Macedonia occupies the territory of the ancient kingdoms of Paeonia, Macedon, and Dardanian. It was also part of the country of Yugoslavia during much of the 20th century. Today, North Macedonia is home to a small but growing tourism industry. In addition to Skopje, the town of Ohrid is a popular destination and a UNESCO world heritage site. Both Skopje () and Ohrid () are home to international airports. Furthermore, Macedonia is well connected with its neighbors by bus.
