Sheremetyevo International Airport (Russian: Шеремéтьево; IATA: SVO, ICAO: UUEE), situated northwest of central moscow, is the busiest international gateway to russia, and with Domodedovo (dme) and Vnukovo (vko) airports, a key entrepôt for the Moscow region.
SVO is the principal hub of aeroflot, the flag carrier of and largest airline based in the Russian Federation, offering numerous connections domestically as well as internationally on Aeroflot's skyteam partners. Holiday carrier Nordwind and its sister charter carrier PegasFly are also based at Sheremetyevo.
The airport has four terminals used for commercial flights: Terminal C, located to the north, and Terminals D, E, and F to the south. Nordwind and a handful of smaller international carriers operate out of Terminal C. Aeroflot and most other carriers operate from the three south terminals, which are all connected airside.
An Aeroexpress rail terminal is connected to Terminal E with service to Belorussky terminal (also known as Smolenskaya station) in central Moscow. By road, the airport is accessed from the congested Leningradskoye Highway and via a toll road. Official taxis offering fixed prices to destinations in the area can be booked from counters in the arrivals area.
