One of the oldest airlines in the world, during the Soviet era Aeroflot was the largest airline in the world, as the USSR's sole domestic and international carrier for both passenger and freight traffic. Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Aeroflot has been reorganized into a semi-privatized passenger carrier with a modern fleet and many international partnerships.
