Questions about Berlin-Schönefeld Airport, located to the southeast of the city which has been replaced by Berlin-Brandenburg International airport (BER) since late 2020.
Berlin-Schönefeld Airport (IATA code: SXF; ICAO code: EDDB), or Flughafen Berlin-Schönefeld in German, was the smaller of two commercial airports serving berlin, capital of germany before the opening of the Berlin Brandenburg "Willy Brandt" airport (ber) in late 2020. The other, also since closed Berlin-Tegel Airport (txl) is located in the northwest of the city.
Schönefeld had four passenger terminals labeled A, B, C, and D, which were all connected airside. Terminal A contained a major base for ryanair, and most scheduled flights from major airlines; Terminal B was dominated by easyjet; Terminal D was mainly used by norwegian-air-shuttle, Condor, and regional airlines.
The airport had a train station with RB and S-Bahn service to the city, as well as local bus service. Autobahn A113 provided local road access.
